Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 22, 2026

I Should Be Writing ("ISBW", "we", "our") is a writing tool that supports focused writing sessions, groups, and live rooms. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

How We Use Information

Add-ins (Google Docs and Word)

The add-ins communicate with ISBW over HTTPS to authenticate your account (if you choose to log in), sync session counters/goals, and support groups/live rooms. Guest mode is available for writing without account storage.

ISBW does not need to store your full document text from Google Docs or Word unless you explicitly use a save feature that sends text to ISBW.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Information may be shared with service providers that help operate the app (for example hosting or database services) only as needed to run the service.

Your Choices

Data Security and Retention

We use reasonable safeguards for stored account and writing data. No internet service is perfectly secure, so please avoid storing highly sensitive information in writing drafts.

We retain data as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and support account recovery or deletion workflows.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the product changes. Material updates will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page.
